Pet-Friendly Stays in Jeonju Hanok Village

As more people in Korea are raising pets at home, more visitors to Jeonju are accompanying their pets on their trip. Today, I’ll introduce some pet-friendly accommodations in Jeonju Hanok Village.

Yangsajae

Many visitors to Jeonju Hanok Village look for spending a night at hanok. Yangsajae is a pet-friendly hanok accommodation in Jeonju Hanok Village. The venue is located at a secluded street few blocks away from the bustling main street.

For people travelling with pets, whether there’s a courtyard or a lawn matters when choosing accommodation. Yangsajae has a good-sized courtyard.

The rooms of Yangsajae are traditional Korean ondol (floor heated). The room is decorated with antique Korean paintings. Not long after entering the room, I feel cosy and comfortable thanks to the warmth of the floor. The guests will love to stay inside the blanket with their pets. Also, there were enough towels in the bathroom for the pets too.

Yangsajae sometimes holds concerts or other cultural events too. It’s where you can enjoy some quality time with your pets and culture!

Avenue Hotel

In this time of the coronavirus, more people are spending weekends at hotels rather than travelling outside the city. If you’re looking for a weekend at a hotel with your pet, Avenue Hotel is for you.

Only 8 minutes away from Jeonju Hanok Village by car, Avenue Hotel has big parking lot. Also, at the lobby, you’ll find snacks and beverages for the guests, such as popcorns for an evening movie session or coffee and crackers for a simple breakfast.

Avenue Hotel is getting plenty of sun through the window, which the dogs love. The ambience here is very comfortable, and it does feel like home. I’m sure your pets will feel the same too!

Avenue Hotel has separate rooms for people travelling with pets, including, suite and twin suite. It’s also suitable for family of more than four with pets. Also, the rooms are equipped with a bath, so the pets can take bath here too.

Avenue Hotel is also popular among the movie and television stars visiting the city during Jeonju International Film Festival. The rooms run out fast during high seasons!

Rangrang & Ranggae

If you’re travelling with bigger dogs, there’s just the right accommodation. Rangrang & Ranggae, located about six minutes away by car along the Jeonjuchun river, is a pet-friendly accommodation that welcomes all kinds of dogs.

The owner of Rangrang & Ranggae also raises a big dog. The owner decided to open a pet-friendly accommodation to contribute to improving the travel infrastructure that is still not very convenient when travelling with pets, especially big dogs. Fortunately, there are now more pet-friendly accommodations around Korea than a couple of years ago.

It seemed that everything at Rangrang and Ranggae is big enough for big dogs. Behind the building is a big playground for big dogs. I also loved the big ‘glamping’ tents and wooden deck for outdoor dining.

There’s also pet bathroom for pet that is open to both tourists and the locals who find it difficult to wash their pets at home. The pet bathroom was big enough for washing big dogs. The window was blinded.

The bath and bath chair are there in case two dogs are taking bath at once. The specialized pet-shower is installed so that grooming and shower can be done simultaneously. Also, Rangrang & Ranggae uses pet shampoo bar instead of just pet shampoo. A part of the profits from the shampoo bar goes to supporting homeless dogs.

Rangrang & Ranggae has two premises. Rangrang has two rooms for small to medium sized (less than 7kgs) dogs. Ranggae has two rooms for bigger dogs or the guests with many dogs. The owners also opened the reservation-only restaurant Rangranginae so that the owners can enjoy the local food comfortably without having to wander from to door to door, asking if they can bring their dogs inside.

On the wall are the photos of the owner and the pet dogs. This made me smile.

The owner supports canine blood donation campaign, so there are discounts on stays and meals for the officially registered blood donation dogs. The family of homeless dogs are also eligible for discounts.

The room is equipped with different pads according to the size of the dog. The room is wide enough for big dogs.

The owner prepared pretty much everything needed for travelling with dogs, including cushions, bowls, towels, and pads.

The bathroom is equipped with a dog shower and dog soap from natural ingredients. The soap also supports homeless dogs. The pet amenity set consists of snack, wet tissue, poop bags, and others. The bags and packaging of the amenities are all environment-friendly substances that disintegrates naturally. I could see that the owner is serious about animal welfare and protecting the environment.

If you’re travelling to Jeonju with big dogs, I highly recommend Rangrang & Ranggae.

Jeonju Hanok Village is becoming more popular among people travelling with pet. If you want to walk the snow-covered stone wall alleyways or the courtyards of hanok premises with your pet, I recommend Jeonju Hanok Village!

‘Rangrang & Ranggae’ seems to be a really good option for travelers with large pets. ‘A Wonderful Life with Dogs’ poster board capture the essence of the owner’s intention to provide quality services to pets. Interesting concept!

Interesting post, specially because no so many places allow pets. So, is good for people with pets to know where they can stay when visiting Jeonju.
