Cost-Effective Korean Buffet Restaurants in Jeonju
Lunch catering is something that I miss since my school days are over. Today, I’ll introduce two cost-effective Korean buffet restaurants in Jeonju that serve home-style food.
Yechaninae
The first cost-effective Korean buffet restaurant is Yechaninae. This place is famous for the all you can eat soy crab and soy shrimp.
Lunch hours are from 11AM to 2PM. The price is only 7,000 won. Considering that the soy crab and the soy shrimp are offered ‘all-you-can-eat’.
The restaurant was rather crowded. This place has been introduced in television foodie shows.
Among the range of dishes offered were fried dumpling, acorn jelly, spicy stir-fried pork, boiled down mackerel and radish, fried seaweed wrap, seasoned vegetables, salads, soy crab, soy shrimp, and many more.
I chose the multigrain rice over the white rice.
For my first serving, I’ll try different dishes to find out which ones are the most delicious.
My first choice is the soy crab and the soy shrimp. They were delicious as expected. The soy shrimp needs a bit of work getting rid of the outer crust, but it’s definitely worth it.
I also liked the fresh kimchi and spicy stir-fried pork. But, more than anything, I was fascinated with this fried and seasoned small crab called ‘ssalgae’. It was very crispy, and I loved the seasoning.
Two shrimps make one heart.
I finished my lunch by returning the cutlery. Now I can come here when I have another soy crab and soy shrimp craving!

Opening hours: 11:00~20:00 (Monday-Friday), 11:00~15:00 (Saturday), closed on Sundays
Price: 7,000 won
Jungsungdamun Babjip
The second cost-effective Korean buffet restaurant is Jungsungdamun Babjip. The lunch is 6,000 won.
This place was also crowded.
It says there’s 3,000 won fine for leftover. I recommend taking food in small portions for the first serving, and returning for more later.
I see home-style dishes such as different seasoned vegetables, soy boiled egg, boiled down lotus root, and fresh kimchi.
The fried sweet pumpkin was very popular.
The main dish were the spicy stir-fry pork and spicy braised chicken, along with the dried radish leaves and doenjang (fermented soy bean paste) soup. For dessert, fruits, sweet sandwich, yakbab (flavored glutinous rice), and rice cake were offered.
I started my serving with my favorite food. My plate almost instantly became full.
I really liked the spicy stir-fried pork and soy boiled egg. Although not on the photo I also liked pyeonyuk (sliced steamed pork) and japchae (stir-fried glass noodle with vegetables).
For my second serving, I had green onion kimchi. I loved the seasoning. If you’re visiting, I recommend mixing japchae with the sauce of the stir-fried pork.
I finished my dessert. With only 6,000 won, I could have a home-style meal for lunch.
