Smarter Way to Travel Jeonju Hanok Village: Jeonbuk Tour Pass
Jeonju Hanok Village is the center of tourism in Jeonju. You can participate in a variety of activities, such as walking around in hanbok (Korean traditional costume) or old Korean school uniforms and taking black-and-white photos. Today, I’ll introduce smarter and more efficient way of travelling Jeonju Hanok Village using “Jeonbuk Tour Pass”.
Jeonbuk Tour Pass will let you visit different places around the Hanok Village more economically. There are other tour passes for visiting attractions throughout the wider Jeonbuk region.
* You can find more about Jeonbuk Tour Pass at its hompage (https://www.jbtourpass.kr/?lang=en).
There are three tour passes useful for travelling Jeonju Hanok Village. I bought “Jeonju Hanok Village Tour Pass”, which let me visit Gyeonggijeon Palace, Luielle Hat Culture Center, Yeomyeong Camera Museum and other places around the Hanok Village. Let’s begin the tour!
* The order of attractions introduced here is arbitrary.
Gyeonggijeon Palace
Gyeonggijeon Palace, hosting the Royal Portrait of Taejo (the founder of Joseon Dynasty) is the most popular attraction in Jeonju Hanok Village. You’ll receive the barcode of the pass via message. Then you don’t need to line up for the entrance ticket. Just show the barcode and enter the premise. After taking instagrammable photos at the palace, don’t forget to stop by the Royal Portrait Museum!
Opening hours: 09:00~19:00 every day (November~February : 09:00~19:00). Royal Portrait Museum is closed on Mondays.
Jeonbuk 100 Tourist Souvenirs
If you spot the cute dolls in hanbok lined up on the wall, you are at Jeonbuk 100 Tourist Souvenirs. It’s the gift shop specializing in the Jeonbuk region. The officially selected 100 (25 are selected every year) souvenirs from the region are on display. The souvenirs include the handcrafts made by local artists, local specialities (food and others), and environment-friendly products. Those with Jeonbuk Tour Pass can receive one free small-sized Choco-Pie at the shop!
Opening hours: 10:00~19:00 every day
Luielle Hat Culture Center & Memory Museum
Luielle Hat Culture Center specializes in fashionable and traditional hats. You’ll learn interesting stories of hats. Take nice photos wearing the hats! The next door is Memory Museum, where you can find out what the ‘good old days’ mean for many adult Koreans. Again, merely showing the barcode will let you free pass into the museums.
Opening hours: Every day 10:00~19:00 (closed on Seolnal and Chuseok)
Yeomyeong Camera Museum
Yeomyeong Camera Museum is a space specializing in old cameras. Inside the hanok buildings, you’ll encounter more than 400 kinds of the beautiful antique and rare cameras from all over the world. The cameras exhibited here are film cameras, all of which can still be used for photoshooting. The people running the museum have taken great effort to keep the cameras in the best condition.
Opening hours: 10:00~18:00, closed on Mondays
Jeonju Hanok Village Tour Pass covers all the key attractions of the Hanok Village. Also, the tour pass is valid for 24 hours. If you decide to start the tour in the afternoon, you can use it until the next day. You can travel more relaxingly using the tour pass.
If you’re also planning to visit other areas of the Jeonbuk region, I highly recommend using Jeonbuk Tour Pass. 🙂
