A Day In Jeonju With Only 10,000 Won
These days, eating out at a restaurant or watching a movie at a ‘multiplex’ theater easily costs more than 10,000 won (about 8.5USD or 7.6EUR). But, in Jeonju, you can still have fun with only 10,000 won! If you’re on a tight budget, this post might help spending an interesting day at Jeonju!
Joy N Cinema
Located in the old ‘movie street’, Joy N Cinema is famous for the cheap movie ticket (adult: 7,000 won; student (incl. college and university): 5,000 won). Despite the surprisingly low ticket price, the theater screens the same newest movies as other ‘multiplex’ theater franchises.
3D movies are also screened here. The ticket for a 3D movie also costs less than 10,000 won (adults: 9,000 won; teenagers: 7,000 won). Also, you may book the ticket online via “interpark”. The timetable is updated daily at the Joy N Cinema facebook page and other internet portals.

Run by the city of Jeonju, the entrance fee of the ice rink is very cheap (adult: 3,000 won, junior-high and high school student: 2,400 won, child: 2,100 won, skate rental: 2,000 won). You only need to pay 5,000 won if you’re an adult and renting skates.

Jeonju Zoo
Opened in 1978, Jeonju Zoo has been a favorite landmark of Jeonju for decades. Being the oldest Zoo outside Seoul, the zoo is currently home to around 650 animal species.
The entrance fee is 1,300 won for an adult, 600 won for a teenager, and 400 for a child.
Recently, Jeonju Zoo has been transformed into an ‘ecological zoo’. The zoo is working hard to shelter the animals in the environment that is as close as possible to their natural habitat. The bear shelter has been expanded ten-fold recently, so that the ten bears that call Jeonju Zoo home can live more comfortably.
Jeonju Zoo seems like a perfect location for the visitors on a tight budget!
