Where do you start and finish your itinerary when travelling to Jeonju?

Most of backpackers would answer it’s Jeonju Station.

For those who begin and end Jeonju travel at Jeonju Station, here are two tourist attractions you can enjoy while walking along First Meeting Road!

  • A travel route recommendation in Jeonju: The first must-visit around Jeonju station is the “First Meeting Road Travelers’ Library”

When you embark on your journey to Jeonju, the first thing you encounter after stepping out of Jeonju Station and crossing the crosswalk is First Meeting Road that greets you.

When you walk straight along the road for around 5 to 10 minutes with Jeonju Station behind you, the First Meeting Road Travelers’ Library appears in the shape of red container building.

This library is a space specialized for travel that functions as both a shelter for travelers and a location for showcasing wide range of recovery books and magazines such as Jeonju guide books with a total of 1,827 volumes as of the end of December 2022.

The left container is a custom-built art book gallery while the right one is designed as a traveler’s lounge.

The gallery displays art books divided according to sections with different themes including films, photography collections, art books, and illustrations in the form of gallery-style exhibition.

There are various kinds of books that seem intriguing, so you can take a break for a moment while reading.

The traveler’s lounge features diverse books including Jeonju travel brochures.

On the one corner of the window and wall are remained notes and scribbles written by travelers.

I also left a trace of my trip to Jeonju after taking the memo sheet and a masking tape from the case labeled Writing Box.

On top of that, I was also able to make a coloring postcard and bookmarks with the motif of First Meeting Road and the Travelers’ Library.

It was such a great pleasure to have a chance not only to read books, but also to engage in experiences and capture lasting memories!

For traveler who desire to remember the onset and end of Jeonju tour by leaving a record, or for those who have some time left before taking a train, I recommend exploring the “First Meeting Road Travelers’ Library”.

  • A travel route recommendation in Jeonju: The second thing to do around Jeonju station is to take part in the experience of creating your own norigae keyring at “Leesle”

There is another special place that awaits you near Jeonju Station. It’s called “Leesle”, a daily hanbok brand shop, which is located just a 5-minute walk from Jeonju Station.

Leesle stands for a renowned daily-wear hanbok brand whose hanbok was worn by BTS’s Jimin during his stage performances. In 2022, this brand made its debut at Milan Fashion Week, showcasing hanboks for the first time ever.

I visited Leesle because they offer a paid experience without reservation where you can make your own norigae keychain.

When I mentioned that I came to create a norigae keychain, the staff kindly explained how the experience was processed.

Referring to the completed samples and my birthstone, I picked the desired materials onto a wooden tray and organized them in particular orders.

Every combination was really beautiful, making it hard to choose from among them.

After paying for all the materials, I was given an explanation of how to assemble the pieces and then put every pieces together step by step before completing my own keychain.

Even if this is the first-time crafting experience, you can finish the work quickly and easily without feeling any difficulty.

When your artwork is done, they even offer so fantastic packaging service like this that you can present your hand-made norigae keyring as a gift after your trip to Jeonju.

The norigae keychain making experience was a unique activity that matched well with Jeonju, the famed city for Hanok Village.

Why not capture a memory by making your own traditional norigae in Jeonju, the most Korean city?

For visitors who look for a unique experience to remember during your trip to Jeonju, I suggest exploring the modern hanbok brand store “Leesle”.
