Dongnagwon is frequented by traditional culture enthusiasts. The place is located in the five-hundred years old street of gingko trees in Pungnamdong area.

Kijeon College, a local college of Jeonju, renovated the old houses and opened Dongnagwon to foster experts on local traditional culture. Currently, Dongnagwon holds the college students’ trainings and visitors’ authentic local cultural experience programs.

Dongnagwon is also a memorial for Miss Jenkin, an American Presbyterian missionary, who devoted herself to educational missionary work in Jeonju area around the late 19th century. Miss Jenkin’s old Jeonju of 1895 has revived in Dongnagwon, and visitors are welcome to join its various educational programs.

Apart from individual lodgement, Dongnagwon also accommodates a large number of people for private parties, seminars, or conferences. The place also holds traditional music, craftwork, dancing, and other similar workshops.

Agbae is a place filled with traditional culture and artistic spirit. The underground floor is a café, while the ground floor is a guesthouse.

The guesthouse facilities of Agbae is a newly-built traditional Korean-style Hanok. The roof of every room has been built with clay and wood, typical of old Hanok. The rooms can accommodate from two people to over ten people. There are also rooms with beds for those uncomfortable with sleeping on the floor.

The gallery is what makes Agbae special. At the underground gallery-café, you can enjoy wild pear tea or callery pear tea while enjoying the artworks from around the Korea.

The owner of the gallery at Agbae is a nationally renowned calligrapher. The place runs calligraphy workshop and traditional tea ceremony is also available with the tea set equipped in every guesthouse room.
