Take a light round trip course at Jeonju Jeolla Gamyoung – Jeolla Gamyoung, Ucheon Chilk Naengmyeon, slowtown.

Lately, you can really feel the cooler days.
On such days, ‘walk’ is a keyword that often comes to mind.
Jeolla Gamyoung, an area near the Hanok Village that once served as the center of old Jeonju, has been restored for four years.
We have prepared this for those still curious about what it is and what it looks like.
I’d like to briefly introduce some restaurants and cafes around Jeolla Gamyoung during our walk.

The sky is very clear today.
Today, Jeolla Gamyoung was very distinct.

Foreign tourists were listening to the explanations of the guide.

Here is some simple usage information for Jeolla Gamyoung.
Knowing this in advance will make for a pleasant walk.

Right after you enter through the main gate, you will see “Seonhwadang” Hall, the main building where national affairs are conducted.
It’s nice that you can remove your shoes and enter the interior to take a break during your walk.

There is a beautifully painted folding screen featuring tigers and dragons.

Right next to Seonhwadang Hall, there is a place called “Gwanpunggak” where, after climbing one flight of stairs, you can relax in a spacious area.

A refreshing breeze made it feel like forest bathing. Sitting here quietly, you’ll realize that a walk involves more than just walking.

A short stroll leads to “Yeonsindang,” where upon entering, you’ll be captivated by photographs depicting the old days.

A stand-type magnifying glass for closer viewing reflects Jeonju City’s thoughtfulness towards its citizens.

Next door, on the way to “Naeah,” the house of the old magistrate, stands an incredibly large tree known as a protective tree.
This tree, about 150 years old, is majestic, and its shade provides a cool respite.
We took a leisurely stroll around Naeah and concluded our walk around Jeolla Gamyoung.

Now, as the saying goes, “after the mountains comes the feast.” To satisfy our growing hunger, we decided to visit a nearby restaurant.

A brief walk towards the Jeonju Health Center takes you to this spot, selected after reading a review noting “15 years” of regular patronage and an English review by a foreigner.

The interior, featuring numerous tables, maintains a clean appearance with aprons provided.
Consulting the menu might also be beneficial.
Following a brief wait, our food arrived.

We ordered both water and bibim naengmyeon and decided to try the fried dumplings, a specialty at Ucheon Chilk Naengmyeon.
Bibimbap sauce is also included, which might be helpful to note.

The restaurant seemed to be a popular spot, as many customers continued to arrive during our meal, drawn by its clean flavors.

The side dishes and fried dumplings looked tempting, didn’t they?
Both the radish side dish and the young radish kimchi were satisfactory, and the dumplings were so delicious that I couldn’t stop eating them.

Let’s move a bit further along the Jeolla Gamyoung path and have a cup of coffee~

Now is the time to conclude the start of our stroll in Jeolla Gamyoung with some refreshing tea time.

Entering slowtown cafe through the sliding doors gave a nostalgic feel, somewhat like walking into an old elementary school classroom.

The cafe’s interior was quaint and vintage, offering a unique and charming atmosphere.
The cafe had several interesting features, and the chairs were comfortable enough for a pleasant break.

Drinking Americano makes my heart race, so I usually opt for vanilla lattes.

After trying several vanilla lattes, I found the one at slowtown to be so exceptional that I felt compelled to recommend it.
The coffee featured a nice crema and was excellently balanced without any bitterness.

For dessert, we ordered pudding and a bagel.
The desserts were so delightful that they made me forget about the meal we had just enjoyed.

What did you think of the light walking course around Jeolla Gamyoung?

I sincerely hope this account makes your own walk a bit more enjoyable.
May you have a joyful autumn and remember to stay healthy and safe on your walks.
